A Historic Downtown Centerpiece

KAI partnered with Paric Corporation for the construction/renovation of this historic multi–use Stifel Theater (Formerly called the Peabody Opera House). KAI monitored the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Design/Build Sub-Contractors to ensure that their contract documents were adhered to during the construction/renovation of this building. KAI was involved in the coordination amongst the various trades during construction in which we gave direction as to the installation of the various equipment related to each trade to assure adherence to the construction schedule for the project.

The Stifel Theater building, which was originally built in the 1930’s, had remained dormant for the previous 15 to 20 years. The project design required the building to be brought up to the current codes, this involved coordination of opening up the existing plaster walls and ceilings throughout the building. KAI was tasked with coordinating all these various openings while maintaining minimal amount of disturbance to the historic aspects of the building.

A new commercial kitchen was installed on the main level along with various concession areas throughout the building along with two large bar areas. KAI coordinated all the installation of all the utilities for these areas during construction.

The KAI team ensured that critical noise sensitive spaces met the required DB readings of the Sound Consultant for the project, and closely worked with the Mechanical Contractor to slow down fans and suggested other modifications to the mechanical systems to reach the required DB rating for the spaces.
