Rethinking Retail
KAI served as both the designer and builder on The Range – St. Louis West, which was a $3 million project. The 20,000 SF building is located on busy Manchester Road, just east of Vlasis Park in Ballwin. The main floor of the facility contains a 5,000 SF pro shop, two expandable training/meeting rooms, offices and a high-tech training simulator designed to provide skill development and entertainment.
The lower floor – accessible by stairs or elevator – consists of 20 shooting lanes divided into three bays, including a tactical training bay with an automated targeting system. Each lane is four feet wide and 25 yards long to accommodate multiple participants, training scenarios and a variety of firearms.
The KAI design/build team and The Range ownership focused on safety throughout the design and build process, including the state-of-the-art air filtration and ventilation system, and a long, centrally-located wash up sink with de-lead soap in the spacious check-in area.
