Revolutionizing Student Life
KAI provided construction management services for Merick Hall, a new five-story, 300-bed residence hall on the main campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
Merick Hall is a 80,000 SF suite style community with double occupancy student rooms connected by a shared entrance and bathroom. The hall has multiple small living rooms throughout the building, a large game, laundry and hearth room overlooking the football field, study lounges on each floor, and a dining facility on the first floor. The upper three floors are dedicated exclusively to housing.
Each room is equipped with cable TV and phone lines, LAN ports for each resident of the room, and wireless access throughout the residence hall.
The building’s exterior blends with the existing campus vernacular and provides durable surfaces for low-maintenance operations.
The project schedule was structured to accommodate the University’s need to achieve occupancy for the Fall semester. KAI’s construction management team ensured the project deadline was met, and students were able to move into the facility for the start of classes in August.
