Providing a fun, safe, educational space just for kids

Eastside Children's Library
City of Fort Worth
Forth Worth, TX

KAI was selected to provide architectural and interior design services on the Eastside Children’s Library located in Fort Worth Texas. The 8,000 SF, $2.9 million facility will provide a well-rounded selection of informational books targeted to children’s educational and curricular-support needs. The library will provide open spaces for exploration, collaboration, socialization and learning. The project will also include such amenities as a sensory garden, maker space (which will utilize technology for creative activities), and study rooms.

BIM technology was utilized to assist in the Owner’s visualization of the designs development. The technology was specifically incorporated for conceptual renderings during the schematic design and design development phases. We also plan to utilize BIM technology during the construction document phase to assist in systems coordination with other disciplines.

The design team has been working closely with an award-winning artist to infuse art into the building design, which will allow the Owner to reduce costs in the long run.
