KAI provided construction management services for the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s (MSD) first above ground storage tank, Tank A, which was completed in 2013. As the District’s Construction Manager for all of their wastewater treatment plant facilities, pump stations and storage tank projects, this included another above ground storage tank, Tank C.

Tank C, located in Hazelwood, Missouri, will be used for storage during wet weather to alleviate overflows and basement backups in the Coldwater Creek sanitary relief sections of B, C and D. It is part of MSD’s overall sanitary relief project.

For the tank’s base slab, 2700 cubic yards of concrete was poured continuously starting at 2:00 a.m., and completed at 4:00 p.m.. Because of poor soil conditions, the tank was founded on 265 H-piles, approximately 100 feet long.
