Coldwater Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Disinfection Facilities

KAI provided construction management and inspection services to the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) for the disinfection facilities at the Coldwater Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. Selected in 2008, KAI’s contract also includes providing Construction Management and Inspection services for a sanitary sewer storage facility on the Coldwater trunk sewer.

The Coldwater Creek sodium hypochlorite disinfection system project consisted of a chemical building, tank rehabilitation, piping, equipment, controls and site work.

KAI had previously completed construction management efforts on the Coldwater WWTP expansion project for MSD. Through that project, our staff became quite familiar with the operations of the plant, and the challenges associated with a maze of undocumented underground utilities. More importantly, we developed and implemented procedures to minimize disruption to plant operations and to address the challenges of these undocumented utilities.
