Position Description
The Superintendent for KAI Build is responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining a team of skilled foreman, ensuring a culture of
safety, productivity, and quality on every project. This role involves mentoring foremen, managing field staff, and contributing to project
planning and execution. The Superintendent will oversee the daily operations on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed
on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality

Essential Functions
- Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional carpenters who distinguish KAI Build from other carpentry companies in the region.
- Maximize the use of talent across all projects, aligning with the strategic objectives of the company.
- Model and drive a culture of safety, awareness, and sound decision-making on every project with every employee.
- Ensure maximum productivity and teamwork without compromising safety or quality to meet or exceed project estimates.
- Hold foremen and field staff accountable for results, fostering a culture of accountability and “KAI Build Excellence.”
- Mentor and support foremen in planning and problem-solving on the job site, acting as a coach rather than a savior.
- Continuously pursue professional growth in industry methods, tools, equipment, technology, safety best practices,
regulations, management, and leadership. - Ensure that foremen understand the scope of work and that no extra work is performed without proper authorization and
processing. - Assist management with man-hour projections for project completion and support in the development of estimates,
particularly in crew mixes, productivity expectations, and methods.
Required Experience
- 10-15 years of experience in the carpentry industry.
- OSHA 30 certification is required.
- Experience working on wood frame projects, including hotels, multi-family housing, and light commercial projects, is
preferred. - Experience in managing manpower on construction sites is preferred.
- Working knowledge of job site safety practices and the ability to complete a company-specific safety orientation.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members, management, and
clients. - Proficiency in base computer functions and programs, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High standard of integrity and professionalism in all aspects of work.
- Physical capability to lift 50-60 lbs.
