KAI Design has studios in 2 offices – Dallas and St. Louis – with plenty of collaboration between them. We are a group of Architects, Designers and Interior Designers who creatively seek to simplify and organize complex problems faced by our clients; transforming their dreams and ambitions into the built environment. We enjoy connecting with communities and actively Listening to Understand to uncover their wants, needs and goals.

KAI is a family environment who encourage and support each other to thrive. Individual annual reviews and quarterly check-ins as well as all-office quarterly meetings provide benchmarks and an opportunity to discuss personal goals toward a tailored career path. Our goal is to have the right people in the right seats which means we work with you to ensure you are utilizing your talents well in a job that is meaningful to you.

My journey to KAI started with a passion for design that produced positive change. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work at KAI as a "young" interior designer, where I was inspired by the firm’s dedication to transforming communities. That experience shaped my perspective on the power of architecture and design to drive meaningful change. After exploring new opportunities and growing in my career, I found my way back to KAI—returning to the firm that first ignited my passion for community-driven design.

KAI is proud to be the Architect of Record for the epicenter for the preservation of Juneteenth history, the National Juneteenth Museum, a collaborative space to foster conversations on the global significance of freedom and the celebration of Juneteenth worldwide.

KAI is providing architectural and engineering design services to expand and renovate the home of The Black Academy of Arts and Letters. The Dallas City Council approved a $22.3 million contract for Component 4 of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center District Master Plan to transform Dallas into a premier global convention destination.

Evolution of Sports

The $5.5 million South County YMCA Adaptive Sports Complex is the first of its kind in Missouri and one of only 46 in the United States. This state-of-the-art complex offers children with disabilities the opportunity to experience the joys and benefits of playing sports in an inclusive environment.
