Position Summary
The Electrical Designer will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to design and produce engineering construction and bid
documents for complex projects. They will focus on power, lighting, and low voltage systems, ensuring designs comply with project
scope, budget, and schedule requirements, and applicable codes, laws, and standards. The role involves developing layouts, diagrams,
schedules, and specifications for various types of projects, including commercial, educational, governmental, and health care facilities.
The Electrical Designer will also coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design integration and completeness.

Essential Functions
- Collaborate with lead engineers throughout the design process to ensure project compliance with scope, budget, and
schedule. - Prepare engineering analyses for projects, including preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and
equipment selection. - Develop designs for power, lighting systems, and low voltage systems.
- Create basic layouts, one-line diagrams, schedules, details, notes, and associated calculations.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and layouts using Revit.
- Check completed layouts, drawings, and specifications for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Review shop drawings to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Perform field observations as part of the construction quality assurance process.
- Manage project tasks to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
- Deliver technical presentations to internal teams and external clients as required during the design process.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support the engineering team and project requirements.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to acquire EIT certification within one year is required. Minimum of 4
years of electrical design experience with a focus on electrical power, lighting, and low voltage design and systems. - Experience working with a multi-disciplined Architectural & Engineering (A&E) team is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local building codes, safety laws, and standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE).

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Proficiency in SKM Power*Tools, AGI32, or Visual Lighting is advantageous.

precision. - High accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of engineering design and documentation.
