In a move that underscores its commitment to continued growth and industry leadership, KAI is pleased to announce the hiring of Richard Long, PE, CEM as Senior Mechanical Engineer and Subject Matter Expert (SME) at its Dallas-Fort Worth, TX office. Long’s extensive experience and expertise will be instrumental in propelling KAI’s engineering efforts forward as it grows its service offerings and tackles increasingly complex projects.
As Senior Mechanical Engineer, Long oversees mechanical quality assurance and control issues for all projects, plus provides technical guidance to design teams and advises on project priorities, processes and technical issues. He will also provide valuable engineering related insights, guidance, and solutions as a Subject Matter Expert to drive excellence and foster continuous improvement and innovation throughout the organization.
Long is a highly skilled and dedicated licensed mechanical engineer with extensive experience in business development, project management, requirements gathering, HVAC design and construction, contract negotiations, mechanical/electrical/plumbing plans, and system implementation and installation.

Prior to KAI, he was a Mechanical Engineering Manager for Solare Engineering Unlimited in Fort Worth, TX. He also previously held the position of Engineering Manager for ReStl Engineers in Dallas. He has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology from Dallas College and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Long is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and a Certified Energy Manager. He is also a member of industry associations AEE and ASHRAE.
