KAI Enterprises has expanded the engineering staff at its Atlanta office with the addition of Eric Green as Engineering Design Manager.
With 19 years of experience in Mechanical Design and Management, his new role at KAI tasks him with overseeing KAI’s work associated with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s (HJAIA) expansion and renovation. Green will also be responsible for supervising personnel onboarding and coordinating office updates and maintenance in KAI’s growing Atlanta office.
“As an Atlanta native, it is incredibly gratifying to be a part of projects that impact my local community,” said Green. “KAI is offering me guidance and freedom in managing clients, projects, and personnel, and they’re providing me with new experiences as we work to grow our operations here in Atlanta. I’m gaining so much technical knowledge working with KAI’s talented engineering group as well.”
Prior to KAI, Green was a Project Engineer and Senior Consultant at a large Atlanta-based professional services firm where he served as the primary point of contact on capital improvement projects at HJAIA and monitored the status of projects for schedule, cost and quality.
Green has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He and his wife, Karla, are proudly raising their two-year-old daughter Riley in the community that he loves and supports. In his free time, Green enjoys cooking and trying new foods, playing soccer, and supporting ATL United.
“KAI is delighted to have Eric Green join our rapidly growing engineering team in Atlanta. He is a proven engineering project manager with a successful multi-market portfolio,” said KAI Managing Partner Brad Simmons, FAIA. “Eric’s most recent experience has been focused on aviation client-side project experience with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. He has long term local ties to the Atlanta community and is personally committed to Atlanta urban neighborhoods and their revitalization. Eric is a great fit with KAI’s culture and our mission of Transforming Communities.”
St. Louis-based KAI acquired Atlanta-based Dorsey Engineering, Inc. in October 2018 with a focus on expanding its engineering service reach into the Atlanta area and the southeastern United States. KAI also has offices in Dallas-Fort Worth and Kansas City, KS.
Since the acquisition, KAI’s Atlanta office has continued to grow, with greater opportunities to serve as the prime engineering consultant and designer on multiple high-profile projects in the region, including the award-winning Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation and Aquatic Center in the City of Atlanta; the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System’s new East Roswell Branch Library; and the HJAIA expansion and renovation.
