KAI Enterprises is excited to announce the hiring of Kristin Copeland, PHR as its new Director of People & Culture.
Copeland has worked in Human Resources for over 20 years and has an extensive background in recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, performance reviews, diversity and inclusion, wellness programs, compliance, and employee relations and training. Prior to KAI, she worked at Emerson for just over eight years, most recently as an HR Manager.
As KAI’s Director of People and Culture, Copeland will lead and direct the functions of the HR department. Outside of overseeing the daily workflow of the department, she will also spearhead creating learning and development initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees, and will analyze trends and best practices in talent management to ensure KAI attracts and retains top talent.
“I am very honored to lead the Human Resources efforts for KAI. I have quickly learned how passionate the employees are about their work and how they embody the mission and core values of the company,” said Copeland. “I’m excited to work with the management and Leadership Team to continue to attract smart, talented people, and foster a culture where employees feel engaged, valued, and supported. We have a great team of people in place, and I look forward to helping make KAI an even better place to work.”
She has a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Kansas and is a licensed Professional in Human Resources. Copeland is also a member of the St. Louis Chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management, and she volunteers with the American Corporate Partners Veterans Mentoring Program.
“Kristin has a valuable role to play at KAI, and we are excited to have an HR professional of her caliber joining our team,” said KAI CEO Michael Kennedy, Jr. “Our employees are our greatest asset, so having someone who embraces diverse perspectives and works to fulfill our employees’ needs in a work environment is what we were looking for and found in Kristin.”
Copeland and her husband have three teenage children. Outside of work, she enjoys cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas Jayhawks; reading, traveling, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
