Encouraging holistic empowerment of youth

KAI began working with Concord Church in 2016 with a study for vertical transportation. Our relationship has since grown to include the re-imagining and new design of the children’s educational spaces for all ages. Our $3 million, 3,000 SF addition and 15,000 renovation includes indoor and outdoor play and learning spaces for infants, toddlers, elementary, teen and young adult areas. We worked very closely with the Youth Ministry to deliver their vision of holistic empowerment of the entire person starting with a young age.

Additionally, as Concord has come to view KAI as a resource and trusted design and management partner, leadership has asked KAI to provide management oversight of the new parking lot expansion.  When Concord opened its new 3,000-seat sanctuary in the Fall of 2015, the new parking lot was immediately full for most Sunday services. Pastor Carter always envisioned a larger place for his congregants, but he waited for the most economically and fiscally responsible time to expand the parking to accommodate the growing congregation. This past fall of 2017, Concord Church embarked on the expansion to increase parking capacity by 300 cars, and KAI was hired to provide design and design management for that effort.
